Landgate's May 2015 Business Activity Profile (BAP) reports an eight-year high (year-to-date) on the total number of new lots created.
The total number of new lots created in May 2015 was 3684, an increase of 11 per cent when compared to the previous month (3319) and a 26 per cent increase when compared to May last year (2923).
Total land document lodgements in May 2015 were 30,239, an increase of more than six per cent when compared to the previous month (28,417).
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said overall there had been a general increase in activity levels compared to the figures for the previous month, which often occurs at the end of the financial year.
"Like many other markets, the property market has its seasonal ebbs and flows and we are experiencing the seasonal increase in land transactions that occurs as we near 30 June," Mr Bradford said.
Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The May BAP 2015 is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
Landgate is Western Australia's primary source of land information and geographic data, providing the accuracy Government, business and individuals rely on.
