Landgate's December 2014 Business Activity Profile (BAP) identifies continued increases in the
creation of new lots.
The number of new lots created increased 7.31 per cent to 2,760 compared to the previous
month of 2,572 and increased 49.11 per cent when compared to the same time last year
(1,851).
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said while the new lots figures were encouraging, the
2014/15 half yearly results for all land transaction documentation had declined by less than one
per cent when compared to same time last year.
"The 2014/15 first quarter figures for all land transaction documentation were up by more than
one per cent when compared to the previous financial year, however the second quarter figures
have decreased," Mr Bradford said.
"While this is seasonally a quiet time for the property sector, we have not seen a decrease in
half-yearly statistics in December for the past four financial years."
Landgate's BAP covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a
barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The December 2014 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all
documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other
categories of property related documents.
