Last chance to have a say on WA Strata Title Reforms

There is one more week for people to provide constructive feedback on the proposed reforms to
Western Australia's Strata Titles Act 1985 with the three month public consultation period
closing on Friday 16 January 2015.

Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford encouraged anyone with an interest to go online and
provide feedback to these important reforms to strata titles and schemes.

"Reforming the current strata title legislation is a key priority for the State Government which
Landgate has been tasked to deliver," Mr Bradford said.

"We have been engaging with government and industry stakeholders for more than
18 months and have concluded the process with a three month public consultation period –
which has been open to all interested parties since 31 October 2014."

By 2031, WA will be home to more than 3.5 million people and more accommodation options for
a population of this size are needed. A robust and suitable legislative framework to support
strata scheme development in Western Australia is part of the solution.

The reforms aim to create better options and make shared living and working environments
more attractive with provision for more cost effective and flexible strata developments, and
improved management and dispute resolution processes.
