Landgate's July 2014 Business Activity Profile (BAP), released today, reports increases in new and strata lot creations for the start of the financial year.
The total number of documents lodged in July 2014 (30,898) decreased by 15.17 per cent when compared to the previous month (36,423) and decreased by 1.17 per cent when compared to July 2013 (31,263).
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said the decrease in July total lodgements was a seasonal occurrence but the increase in new and strata lot creation figures were encouraging.
The increase in lot creations include:
- new lots created increased by 69.51 per cent in July 2014 when compared to the previous month and by 24.89 per cent when compared to July 2013;
- subdivisional lots created increased by 65.15 per cent in July 2014 when compared to the previous month and by 5.29 per cent when compared to July 2013; and
- trata lots created increased by 74.83 per cent in July 2014 when compared to the previous month and by 59.11 per cent when compared to July 2013.
Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The July 2014 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
